The city of Madrid is home to some of the most valuable treasures of mankind. Just stroll through its streets and broad avenues for realizing the intense cultural life the city has. Fortunately, thanks to the offer of flights to Madrid, it is possible to learn about some of the wonders of La Villa and Court. And one of the places that we should not miss is the Museo del Prado. Who has already visited it often said that one day is not enough to appreciate all the wonders that are on this site.
Ideally, then, have two or three days to devote them to their journey. The reality is that the Prado Museum occupies more than 45 thousand square meters, distributed not in a single building, but in a complex of several of them. The original building, the Villanueva building was begun to build in 1785 and completed in 1808. Throughout history, it suffered successive alterations and extensions, being the last major reform of the year 1967. The Prado Museum is a fairly accessible excursion, costs only 8 the input, allowing visitors access to a wide range of services. Optionally it is possible to join a group of visitors, with a guide who will provide comprehensive information on works of art from various collections and permanent exhibitions. The service of audioguide, which is paid in addition to the input (5), is available in Spanish, English, French, Italian and German.
Also people with hearing disabilities can count on a service of guide by sign language, prior reservation. Logically, the first works of the Museum were works from the Spanish Crown. But since its inception, the Museum has not stopped growing. Due to space limitations, are exhibited only some 900 works from the nearly 8000 which are housed at the Museum, and even so, estimated it has the largest number of works exhibited per square meter, compared with other museums in the world. You can not go through the largest city in the Iberian Peninsula with its almost four million inhabitants. Without a doubt, this is the ideal place to take a break of a few days, by the incredible offer of accommodation in all categories, and the possibility of doing a fantastic trip with very little investment.
